THE luxury hotel group Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts opened its first European resort, Jumeirah Port Soller Resort & Spa in Mallorca, Spain on April 24, 2012. The resort’s team will be under the leadership of general manager Fernando Gibaja.

Jumeirah Port Soller sits on a cliff by the harbour village of Port Sóller surrounded by a pine forest and overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The five-star resort comprises 120 guestrooms and suites, all with a private terrace or balcony, located on eight separate outbuildings, surrounded by lush gardens featuring native plants and trees with 360 degree views of the sea and the impressive Tramuntana mountain range.

A “Pay 4 nights, stay 5 nights” opening offer is available for consumers via Tour Operators from opening until June 30 and from September 14 to December 20, 2012. The offer includes full breakfast at Es Fanals Restaurant, complimentary wi-fi in all areas and rooms, complimentary use of Barbaroja’s Kids Club, complimentary access to Talise Spa, and complimentary shuttle service to Port Sóller. The offer is applicable to all room types subject to availability and not available in combination with any other offer. Bookings must be made through a tour operator.

With stunning views over the Mallorcan coast, Jumeirah Port Soller is set in the Tramuntana Valley on the northwest of the island, also known as Orange Valley for its abundance of citrus trees. The architecture of the resort merges into the surroundings by using natural stone, local materials and low buildings. It has three outdoor swimming pools, one of them a hydropool heated all year round, two restaurants and four bars with al fresco dining options and elegant function rooms with state-of-the-art facilities all with floor-to-ceiling sea views. The resort also has a stunning, naturally lit Talise Spa, a fitness club and original works by local artists.

Jumeirah Port Soller is the latest addition to the Jumeirah portfolio of luxury hotels and resorts in Europe, along with Jumeirah Grand Hotel Via Veneto in Rome, Pera Palace Hotel in Istanbul and Grosvenor House Apartments by Jumeirah Living in London. From the start of 2011 to the end of 2012, Jumeirah Group will have more than doubled the number of hotels it manages and almost quadrupled the number of countries in which it operates. In the coming six months, Jumeirah expects to open Jumeirah Bilgah Beach Hotel in Baku, Azerbaijan; Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel and Spa, Kuwait; and Jumeirah Creekside in Dubai, UAE.
