The Mövenpick Resort El Quseir chefs participated in preparing and serving a 432 sq m Strawberry Cake. This cake was part of the festival held for the occasion of the Red Sea governorate national day. The largest strawberry cake ever served in Egypt was an initiative of the Red Sea Chefs to promote and boost the tourism industry. The “Happy Birthday Red Sea” cake carried the message that the Egyptian beaches are safe and ready to welcome tourists.
500 Kg of fresh strawberry were used to decorate the cake, while 20 hotels from Red Sea Area participated with 200 chefs who were in action to prepare and serve the cake for the tourists. Folklore show, traditional music and dancing while enjoying a delicious slice of the strawberry cake were the theme of the festival night.
