
Dusit Thani Dubai chefs wowed Emirates International Salon Culinaire judges at this year’s competitions and brought home a total of eight medals, including two gold. The Emirates International Salon Culinaire is the annual event held during Gulfood, the Middle East’s largest trade exhibition for the food, beverage, food service and hospitality equipment industry. This year’s event consisted of a series of competitions in more than 25 categories ranging from the creation and preparation of a five-course gourmet meal to dessert plates, ice carvings, and confectionery.
This year saw the hotel’s ice carvers pick up both gold medals for individual and team carving. Chef Wasan Mokan. Silver medals were also awarded to Chef Bossaporn Chaowanachinda and Chef Piyakiet Ngawtong for live cooking in the salmon and lamb category, and Chef Christopher George gained silver for his mastery in lamb dressing. Chef Rohan Jayantha Gampalage, first time entrant to the competition, picked up a bronze medal in the Four Plates of Dessert category.
