ONYX to launch Amari in India
ONYX Hospitality Group has been appointed by Apna Punjab Resorts Ltd to operate a 127-suite hotel in Ludhiana, Punjab, under its cornerstone mid to upscale Amari brand. The hotel, expected to open in the second half of 2012, will be known as Amari Ludhiana. Located on Canal Road, the hotel will feature 127 spacious guestrooms with a courtyard lobby, reception and lounge located within a grand atrium space of approximately 1,400 sq m. In terms of area, Amari Ludhiana will be the largest hotel in the Punjab.

City Seasons Al Hamra reopens
THE City Seasons Al Hamra Hotel in Abu Dhabi has reopened following an extensive refurbishment of its rooms and public areas. The hotel’s main entrance and lobby area has been completely remodelled with the addition of a gift shop as well as a new business centre.
Café Trottoir, the coffee shop located on the ground floor, has been designed to look out onto the street. Also completely reconfigured and remodelled the hotel’s all-day dining outlet, the New Season Restaurant and will open a new Thai restaurant next month.
There has also been significant investment in the health club facilities with a bigger gym area and the addition of a sauna, steam rooms, massage facilities and beauty salon. The final touches are being added to the banqueting and conference facilities and to the club floor which now has a brand new lounge. These are set to be completed next month.
Coral Hotel Dhahran opens doors
HMH-Hospitality Management Holdings announced the opening of the Coral Hotel Dhahran on January 14, 2012, marking the soft opening of the group’s 13th hotel in the Kingdom. The 153-room hotel is strategically located in the Aramco district of Dhahran.
The hotel will feature an all-day dining restaurant Al Nafoora, the specialty Rasoi Indian and Rumours Café.
Hilton Worldwide signs fourth Saudi hotel
HILTON Worldwide announces the signing of a Management Agreement with Obeikan Real Estate Development Company for the fourth Hilton Hotels & Resorts property in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The 210-key Hilton Riyadh King Fahd Road is scheduled to open in 2014, following the Hilton Riyadh King Saud University, Hilton Riyadh King Saud University Residence and the Hilton Riyadh Hotel & Residence, all scheduled to open by 2013. Once completed, the hotel will feature 210 rooms, a specialty restaurant, all-day dining outlet as well as a pool and lobby lounges.
Other facilities include a business centre, health club and spa and executive lounge. Catering to Riyadh’s considerable events and meetings market, seven meeting rooms, two boardrooms and one ballroom are also planned.
