THE Concorde Fujairah Hotel has announced that it is keen to focus on organizing more group events this year, in the hope to increase activity and maintain its position as one of the largest hotels in the northern emirate. Due to the hotel’s structure and facilities, boasting of 206-spacious and luxuriously decorated guest rooms including the biggest ballroom which can comfortably accommodate up to 900 guests, Concorde Fujairah Hotel plans to host more sports and cultural activities in coordination with all the official bodies of the government of Fujairah.

The property recently served as the venue for the Second Asian West Championship where top players from 13 West Asian nations competed for gold medals in the snooker singles, snooker team, eight- and nine-ball pool singles events. The participating countries are Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Yemen and the host, United Arab Emirates.

Mohamed Fekry, general manager of the hotel, said: “We have exceeded our expectations in 2011 in terms of revenue and the number of visitors and guests who stayed at our hotel so this year we plan to hold group events to further create awareness for the property. We also plan to update our hotel facilities to cope up with the quick and fast development of the emirate of Fujairah.

We will be targeting the Asian market, the GCC and the Muslim community and families who are looking for a dry hotel with five-star accommodation and facilities.”

Fekry added that Concorde Fujairah Hotel is aware of the challenges facing them this year with the additional of new hotel rooms in the emirate but is confident that Concorde will keep up and is ready to face the challenge because they get the support of the Fujairah Tourism Board.

He added, “We are working hand-in-hand with the Fujairah Tourism Board to make the city of Fujairah a favoured destination within UAE and the Middle East. Tourism in Fujairah is growing and with the opening of new roads, shopping malls and the Sheikh Khalifa Mosque which will be a landmark and iconic structure, we expect to receive more visitors this year. Having said that, we will look at highlighting the role of the travel agents in promoting Fujairah by discussing with them affordable packages to attract more guests and I’m sure we will be successful at that.”

Conveniently located on the main Sheikh Hamad Bin Abdulla road just 15 minutes from Fujairah port and five minutes from Fujairah International Airport, the elegant five-star hotel features superbly furnished rooms and suites with views of the sea or mountains.

It offers a superb choice of fine dining restaurants and room service facilities such as Belle View, the all-day dining restaurant; Samakino Seafood Restaurant, the place to go to for seafood enthusiasts offering freshly prepared fish delights by highly skilled chefs; the Bistro Café serving mouth-watering pastries and pies and the Splash Pool Bar where you can soak up the sun even while sipping on your favourite drink.
