Park Rotana eases check-in

The Park Rotana Abu Dhabi has introduced a new innovative service which will make the travel experience of its guests, especially those travelling on business, more seamless, efficient and less time consuming. The property has launched a self-service airport check-in kiosk as a pilot project between Rotana Hotels and Abu Dhabi Airport Company. The new facility, which is the first of its kind in the Middle East, will allow passengers to check-out from the Park Rotana Abu Dhabi and directly check-in to their flight before leaving the hotel. The kiosk is located in the main hotel lobby and the following services are available to the travellers of Etihad Airways, KLM, Air France and Jet Airways.

Ascott to debut in Muscat

CapitaLand’s wholly-owned serviced residence business unit, The Ascott Limited (Ascott), signed a management contract for a 220-unit serviced residence in Muscat, Oman. Somerset Panorama Muscat is scheduled to open in 2014 and will be part of an integrated development with retail and leisure amenities, as well as a private hospital for women and children. Ideal for travellers who are on business or holiday with their families, Somerset Panorama Muscat will offer a range of stylish one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. Guests will be able to experience the warmth of home and a balanced lifestyle through a comprehensive range of recreational facilities and residents’ activities. Facilities include a gymnasium, residents’ lounge, swimming pool, children’s pool and playroom.

Hilton opens first hotel in Azerbaijan

Hilton Hotels & Resorts has opened the its first hotel in Azerbaijan. The Hilton Baku will also bring to the region the first eforea: spa at Hilton in the European region.  Situated on the coast of the Caspian Sea, Hilton Baku boasts 25 floors with breathtaking views overlooking the sea and the Baku cityscape.  The hotel provides has 18 meeting rooms which can accommodate up to 196 guests and a ballroom which seats up to 738 guest’s theatre style or 460 for a dinner event.  The hotel is set within Baku’s business district and is   25 km from Heydar Aliyev International Airport. Dining outlets include the flagship restaurant Sky Grill, the Sugar Lounge and the top floor revolving 360 Bar.

Anantara club adds New Zealand venue

Anantara Vacation Club, Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas’ Shared Ownership concept, has announced a new addition to its inventory in the southern hemisphere’s adventure capital of Queenstown, New Zealand – Anantara Vacation Club at Oaks Shores. Located on the crystal clear waters of Lake Wakatipu in Queenstown, Oaks Shores is just 15 minutes from the airport and has direct lake access, a walking track, a landscaped courtyard with BBQ facilities, a gym and sauna, covered car parking, a restaurant and bar and complimentary internet and cable TV. Accommodation comprises a selection of hotel suites for two guests, along with two- and three-bedroom deluxe suites able to accommodate up to six and eight guests respectively.

Mövenpick Deira goes extra quiet

The Mövenpick Hotel Deira in Dubai, UAE, has creating a dedicated Quiet Floor with a full range of amenities exclusively for business guests. Children will not be allowed onto the floor and room service will be carried by tray. In addition housekeeping trolleys will be confined to between 8 am and 10 pm. The rooms come fitted with subdued lighting to soothe tired eyes; comfortable sheets and a pillow menu. TV volumes are pre-set to a comfortable level, ear plugs and eye masks are available in every room as part of the amenities and telephone calls are automatically directed to voice mail upon request for business guests that would like complete peace and quiet. Finally a selection of herbal teas will also be available to promote a deep and restful sleep.
