New suites property for Al Khobar

MENA Hotels & Resorts has announced its latest suites property for Saudia Arabia, Mena Suites Hotel – Al Khobar, which is due to open in the summer of 2012.

The property will be located in Al Khobar’s prime commercial area, opposite Dhahran Mall, and is designed to be a lifestyle boutique hotel creating a homely residential environment for extended-stay travellers and families.

All suites will feature a fully-equipped kitchenette, state-of-the-art entertainment and communications, widescreen TVs with a variety of international channels and free Wi-Fi throughout.

The property will comprise 70 larger than average rooms and suites, a café-restaurant, two meeting rooms, a relaxing swimming pool area, gym, spa, massage rooms and free car parking.

'The signing of the management agreement with (hotel owner) Ibrahim Asmael is the start of our partnership and of many other projects which we are evaluating and a testament to our commitment to offering even more choices and convenience in the Kingdom,' said Sami Al Hokair, executive vice president of Al Hokair Group which established Mena Hotels & Resorts in 2008.

Asmael, owner of development and contracting company Asmael, added: 'We are extremely pleased to be partnering with Mena Hotels & Resorts in developing the first Mena Suites Hotel in the kingdom. The Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities has a robust plan in place to increase the tourism industry’s share in the country’s gross domestic product from six to 16 per cent by 2020. We are proud to be contributing to that plan with our partner.'

Mena Hotels & Resorts made its debut with Mena Hotel Riyadh. Since then it has taken over management of the five-star Mena Grand Khaldia, Riyadh, a tower of 400 rooms and suites with 18 meeting rooms and a 600-person ballroom.

Mena Suites Olaya, Riyadh is scheduled to open by November 2011 and well as Mena Hotel Muscat, Oman. Further properties are scheduled to open in other major cities by 2012.
