IF YOU’RE looking for a great business location on your next trip to Abu Dhabi, then you could do worse than try out the capital city’s newest and largest hotel, the Grand Millennium Al Wahda.
Right in the heart of the business district and just 15 minutes from Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, the property offers 265 residences and a massive 585 spacious rooms all equipped with the latest in electronic gadgetry from multi-line phones with data ports to Wi-Fi internet, Bose sound systems and even heated towel racks!
Conveniently located next to the Al Wahda mall and sports club, the hotel is home to the largest health club and spa in the city and, though I didn’t get a chance to try the facilities, a quick look revealed top-of-the-line Technogym equipment alongside the 10 treatment rooms of the Zayna spa where highly trained therapists offer an extensive menu from facials and body wraps to massages and hydrotherapy.
On arrival we received a traditional, warm greeting including Arabic coffee which I can imagine would be a welcome novelty for travellers from outside the region.
The check-in process was quick and efficient and the staff friendly, making us feel very at home.
Our rooms were spotless, well-equipped and comfortable with amazing views across the city and fast internet, which is always a plus when travelling on business. And did I mention the pillows? So soft I really didn’t want to get up in the morning!
With its seven dining venues Grand Millennium has something for everyone from the Porterhouse American Grill, a personal favourite where the steaks were cooked to perfection, to Asian restaurant Toshi and Portobello, the Italian eatery. One would have to stay a bit longer to try them all but I was suitably impressed and breakfast at all-day-dining venue Al Wahda really set me up for the day which, I’m glad to say, included a short trip to the pool where, once again, you can enjoy those incredible views across the city.
All in all I would say the location makes Millennium Al Wahda a great place for families with so much nearby and the comfort levels and warm welcome will make it a favourite with business and leisure travellers alike.
