THE Address Hotels and Resorts is confident of a robust performance year in 2011 especially with the tourism sector of Dubai recording strong growth trends.

Marc Dardenne, chief executive officer, Emaar Hospitality Group and Emaar Hotels & Resorts, says:  “There is a clear sign of an economic revival and we are confident of attracting both leisure and business tourists from across the Middle East and North Africa, the Indian subcontinent, China and South Asia, back into Dubai.”

Business across all five properties of The Address Hotels and Resorts was extremely encouraging in 2010. The hotels recorded strong occupancy figures and contributed significantly to the revenue stream of Emaar. “We recently announced our expansion to Asia, by signing a management agreement to operate the The Address, The Terrace – Bali, a luxury retreat in Pecatu Indah Resort in Bali. This is the future as we continue to focus on growth opportunities in emerging markets in the Middle East and North Africa, the Indian subcontinent and South Asia,” said Dardenne.

The Address Hotels and Resorts, which opened its first property in the thick of the global financial crisis, expanded its portfolio in Dubai to five hotels, as well as signed a management agreement for the Jnan Amar Marrakech Polo Resort, a luxury polo retreat in Morocco, an award-winning golf resort project developed by Residence De Lavagnac in Languedoc-Roussillon, South of France and most recently, The Address, The Terrace, Bali.

The Address Hotels and Resorts upholds a one-size-fits-one philosophy; which means each property has a distinct identity and niché. One of the challenges faced is the need to drive environmentally friendly practices. Dardenne adds, “Recently, The Palace – The Old Town hotel marked a regional first by achieving the coveted Green Globe Certification, making it the city’s only sustainable and environment friendly hotel,” he said.

“With China, the GCC and India among others recording healthy growth, there are positive trends in business travel too. Expansion of regional airlines, including Emirates, to new destinations is another catalyst for the tourism and hospitality sector. We see new markets from the Mena region, the Indian subcontinent and South Asia contributing to the hospitality sector in terms of visitor arrivals and new opportunities for development,” added Dardenne.
