DUBAI International has been voted among the three favourite airports in the world by frequent travellers.
The poll of members of Priority Pass, the world’s leading independent airport lounge programme, covered more than 9,000 frequent flyers from 150 different countries, asking them to vote for their favourite airport in the world.
Dubai was ranked third behind Singapore Changi and Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok and ahead of all airports in Europe and the Americas, Copenhagen in Denmark and Amsterdam Schiphol came in fourth and fifth.
Among the 300 respondents from the Middle East, Dubai was ranked first in the world, with Hong Kong second, Abu Dhabi International third, Dublin fourth and Singapore fifth.
In general, the survey showed that travellers from the Middle East benefit from having high quality airports close at hand. When asked to assess their overall airport experience, those from the Middle East expressed greater satisfaction (73 per cent) than the worldwide average (64 per cent).
Jonathan French, head of brand at Priority Pass, commented: “It’s clear that airports in the Middle East are gaining greater prestige among travellers throughout the world due to the excellent facilities and management. Our members travel frequently (an average of 17 flights a year) and come from all corners of the world, so this result comes from an informed source”
