The famous Dragon Boat Carnival

HONG Kong Tourism Board is launching a campaign called Festive Hong Kong 2010 promising fun-filled events throughout the year.

The promotion begins with the Summer Spectacular programme leading into a season packed with exciting events including the three day Dragon Boat Carnival along the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront, spectacular summer sales in all the major shopping areas and precincts and a food and entertainment festival in the famous Lan Kwai Fong district of Hong Kong.

And this is only the beginning of Festive Hong Kong as there is much more planned throughout the year. In October the city is transformed as residents dress up for Halloween with much entertainment and enjoyment going on.

There is also the mid-autumn lantern festival, which offers a fascinating opportunity to experience the delicate lantern displays, and the spellbinding three-day fire dragon dance festival.

This all leads up to the dining festival in November, the winterfest in December and the world famous Chinese New Year celebrations in January and February 2011.

Hong Kong is easily accessible from the Middle East with daily flights from Cathay Pacific, Emirates and others scheduled from Qatar Airways.

Hong Kong is the centre of the Far East and gateway to mainland China and Macau with all its attractions.

It is an ideal stopover for those travelling to places such as Australia and is becoming popular as a base for two-centre holidays offering easy flight access for those also wanting to take in Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines or Indonesia.
