INTERCONTINENTAL Hotels Group’s (IHG) luxury brand returns to Russia after a decade away with the opening of InterContinental Moscow Tverskaya on December 5, 2011.
The hotel is situated on Russia’s most famous street and is a couple of minutes from the Kremlin and Red Square.
The InterContinental Moscow Tverskaya features 184 beautifully appointed guestrooms, with hardwood parquet flooring, built-in televisions in the bedroom and bathroom, bespoke furniture, luxurious fabrics, and a striking glass wall between bathroom and bedroom. The hotel also offers 19 stunning suites, including three Penthouse Suites named after famous Russian ballet dancers Galina Ulanova, Isadora Duncan and Vaslav Nijinsky.
Rooms and suites are equipped with the latest business and entertainment technology including high-speed wireless Internet access, IP telephones, plasma televisions and iPod docking stations. Designed by London-based consultancy AlexKravetzDesign, InterContinental Moscow Tverskaya has the look and feel of a ‘’Grand Boutique,’’ combining contemporary features with accents inspired by iconic landmarks of city’s skyline like the Seven Sisters skyscrapers.
Other facilities include a Club InterContinental lounge, offering express check-in and check-out, Wi-fi, complimentary breakfast, light snacks, beverages throughout the day, evening drinks and personalized service.

For business guests the hotel also offers extensive meeting, conference and event facilities, including a divisible ballroom with natural daylight and views, seating up to 250 guests for theatre style seating. The no-column design allows for unobstructed views anywhere in the room. Additional multi-function rooms offer space for smaller meetings, luncheons or dinners.
The Spa InterContinental by Elemis and a health club are scheduled to open early next year. The 24-hour health club features a full range of fitness equipment that includes cardio-vascular and resistance machines and free weights.
The 126-seat Chekhonte restaurant offers a chef-driven, contemporary take on traditional Russian cuisine, recounting local family traditions and original recipes in a modern day setting. ‘’Chocolate by day, Martinis by night’’ will be the theme for the lobby lounge and bar P-Square.
