Jumeirah seeks new LatAm business

Dubai based hospitality group Jumeirah has tasked Personal Hotel Consulting (PHC) and Hotel International Partners (HIP) with heading up its sales efforts in South America.

Respectively based in Buenos Aires and Sao Paolo, PHC and HIP are independent companies providing a full range of sales and marketing services for luxury class hotels and resorts around the world, and have been in the market for 10 years.

The companies will focus on positioning the Jumeirah brand and execute Jumeirah’s sales efforts towards meeting planners and incentive companies, as well as groups representing leisure and corporate travellers in primary markets in South America, a press statement said.

With five star hotels and resorts in Dubai, London, New York – and soon in Shanghai – Jumeirah is turning its attention to the South American market. The group has recently been appointed to manage a luxury lifestyle resort dedicated to polo and equestrian sports, located in Argentina. The Jumeirah Culu Culu Polo Resort will be located in Lobos, a 30 minute car journey from Argentina’s Ezeiza International Airport and just one hour away from Buenos Aires

And last month, sporting celebrities gathered in the Argentine ski resort of Las Leñas as Jumeirah Culu Culu Polo Resort hosted a women’s snow polo tournament, with the snow covered Andes mountains providing a picturesque backdrop.

As sponsors of the event, Jumeirah Culu Culu Polo Resort also orchestrated a friendly celebrity match between the world’s number one polo player Adolfo Cambiaso and David Nalbandian, the world’s number seven tennis player.

The game of snow polo is played on horseback with three players per team. Horses are shod with specially cleated horseshoes for traction.

Guests of the world class luxury resort will have access to eight polo fields, incorporating two championship polo fields and a spa and fitness centre. Jumeirah will manage the five star hotel. Facilities will include four restaurants and bars, Jumeirah’s signature spa Talise Wellness, a health club, swimming pools and tennis courts. The resort will also include 220 Jumeirah Living serviced privately owned villas.
