Ramee to open new 4-star hotel

A BD4 million ($10.6 million) four-star hotel is set to open in December in Juffair.

The 11-storey Ramee International - Bahrain Hotel, will be part of the Dubai-based Ramee Group and is being built as a joint venture by the group and Bahraini investors.

There are already three Ramee group hotels in Bahrain, the Metropolitan Hotel, Windsor Tower Hotel and the Grand Hotel.

The construction work is taking place on a 12,000 square metre site.

The hotel has been designed by Dar Al Tasmeem Engineering Consultancy, which is also supervising the construction.

"The hotel is being built to British standards and furnished to the latest international standards," said project manager Redha Bader.

There are 105 guest rooms, including two-room suites, junior suites, double and single rooms, all with en suite bathrooms.

Thirty-five rooms will feature kitchenettes for guests with families.

Most of the rooms will have a sea view.

"All the guest rooms will have sprinklers and smoke detectors," said Bader.

"They will also have magnetic swipe card doors."

The basement carpark will be able to accommodate more than 90 cars.

The ground floor will feature a lobby, coffee shop with Internet booths and a seafood restaurant.

An American-style restaurant will also be opened.

Other facilities will include entertainment outlets, a banquet hall, business centre, hair dressing salon, swimming pool and a gymnasium.
