Sheraton Doha launches web lounge
The Sheraton Doha Resort & Convention Hotel has launched Link@Sheraton, a new brand intended to create a lively experience for guests while working online.
It is the first Sheraton hotel in the Middle East to launch the brand. The opening ceremony was attended by Roeland Vos, president Europe, Africa and the Middle East for Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide; and Gerhard Foltin, general manager of the Sheraton Doha. More than just a lobby space, the Link @ Sheraton is a unique and convenient online experience enabling guests to surf the Internet, email, review local favourite attractions and work in a warm and comforting environment, said a spokesman.
Aldar, Oberoi in deal for two hotels
The UAE’s Aldar Properties has signed a long-term strategic agreement with Oberoi Hotels and Resorts.
The agreement will see the development of two outstanding new luxury hotels at Aldar’s projects on YAS Island and Al Raha Beach.
The relationship will commence with the development of a luxurious business hotel at Al Raha Beach and will be followed by a luxury beachfront resort on YAS Island development. This agreement constitutes the Oberoi Group’s entry into the lucrative Abu Dhabi market and is viewed by Aldar as a strategic step in its hospitality development program, a statement said.
All-pool-villa resort for Bodrum
Banyan Tree Holdings, a leading developer, designer and operator of top-tier hotels, resorts, spas and galleries worldwide, has signed a new management contract in Turkey.
In its first foray into Turkey, Banyan Tree will manage a boutique resort and residential development located in the northern coast of the Bodrum peninsula.
Developed by Osmanli Yapi 1 Insaat Turizm Sanayi ve Tic AS, a subsidiary of the London-listed Ottoman Fund, the site is a scenic 45-minute drive from the Milas-Bodrum International Airport. Measuring 18.5 hectares in size, the terraced site will feature an all-pool villa resort and branded residences all of which will have unblocked views of the Aegean Sea and are backed by dramatic cliff terrains.
The resort will also include a 4,000 sqm spa facility featuring Banyan Tree’s award winning spa treatments.
