The Kumarakom Lake Resort offers heritage and luxury

Kerala’s Kumarakom Lake Resort, which attempts to create a perfect union between heritage, luxury and natural beauty, is offering three nights’ stay for the price of two until August 31.

Villas at the property range from Rs8500 per night to Rs11500 per night, with four villa options to choose from, including one with a private pool. An extra bed is available at Rs3000.
Rates are inclusive of transfers from and to Muhamma boat jetty or Kottayam Railway station, traditional welcome drink on arrival, buffet breakfast, evening cultural programme, an hour’s sunset cruise every evening, free accommodation for children below the age of five in their parents’ room without an extra bed, and other facilities.
Fifteen per cent luxury taxes apply, and any other government taxes applicable at the time of arrival will be charged extra.
Billed as catering primarily to the world’s most discerning travellers, it is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World association. The heritage retreat has been developed on the serene banks of Kerala’s Vembanad Lake and is spread over 25 acres of magnificently landscaped lush land and was awarded the World Travel Award as India’s Leading Resort for the year 2006-07.
