Amman’s Petra Travel and Tourism Company (PTTC) will return to ATM to talk up Jordan to they key GCC market, according to a company official.

“It has become almost of a tradition for us to attend the ATM because we were one of the early exhibitors at the show when it started back in the 1990s,” said Petra Tours general manager Awni Kawar.
“And this year we are there, because we believe this is a very good exhibition to market Jordan, and by the fact that about 60 per cent of the kingdom’s inbound tourism trade are from the Arab Gulf countries.”
ATM is a good meeting place for travel agencies, tour operators, hoteliers, destination management companies, African and Asian health resorts and spas and industry service providers, which is why Petra Tours consistently attends, he said.
“ATM has become a good way of networking, meeting others and generating business, whether in the inbound sector or outbound.”
And this suits the PTTC since it is involved in both sectors. “Today our company is involved in both inbound that is tourists coming to Jordan, and outbound tourists from the kingdom who want to travel to other countries of the world, which is steadily increasing.”
The PTTC also hopes to use the ATM to reach the region’s exploding MICE market with its new division, Petra Events Management, said Kanwar.
