DUBAI’S new Dhow Palace Hotel will be at WTM for the first time since it opened in February, taking a space on the Dubai stand.
“The travel trade sector has been very supportive of the Dhow Palace Hotel and we have an excellent business relationship with them where they enjoy our support as well,” general manager Samier Aziz told TTN, pointing out that WTM is the ideal venue to extend those deals and strike new relationships.
He said the hotel has had a great first year, with occupancy rates in the 90s during the peak period, while rates dropped marginally to 85 per cent in the summer and Ramadan.
“This being our first year of operations which has been very successful. We will ensure to maintain our occupancy levels till the end of the year in the 90’s with a higher average rate,” he said.
The hotel expects a busy winter with the exhibitions period and annual Dubai Shopping Festival. “In 2007 our aim is to maintain similar occupancy levels but with a better average rate,” he said.
A new property in the Bur Dubai district, the Dhow Palace offers 282 guest rooms including 30 spacious Viceroy, Commodore and Captain suites equipped with plasma TV and interactive entertainment facilities, high-speed Internet and in-room safes. The suites and deluxe rooms are furbished in a traditional Arabic style and feature Jacuzzis.
The hotel has nine F&B outlets, including Docklands all-day dining outlet Docklands, the lobby lounge Dhow Café, Queens Quay bar, Indian, Lebanese, Asian seafood and Italian restaurants, a steakhouse, and a cigar lounge.
Banquet and conference facilities include a multi-use ballroom for up to 800 guests and five meeting rooms with natural daylight.
A fully equipped health club and a business centre are also part of the facilities.
