New F&B concepts at Taba Marriott
THE Taba Heights Marriott Beach Resort recently launched its newest F&B outlet, El Fuego, a distinctive modern Mexican Café and Bar that is the perfect place to watch the sunset, complete with original Mexican food specialties and beverages (such as Corona Beer, Tequilas and more).

Other new outlets are the Juice Bar and the Grotto Bar & Grill, worked to look like an Eastern cave with Pharaohnic or Bedouin theme nights. Hans Loontiens, general manager of the hotel (above), says, “We are always eager in adding new facilities that always cater to guests’ desires, meet and exceed guest expectations.”

World Travel wins for Jordan hotels
THE Amman Marriott Hotel has been named Jordan’s Leading Hotel and the Jordan Valley Marriott Resort & Spa was named Jordan's Leading Resort at the 13th Annual World Travel Awards. This decision was reached by travel agents worldwide. This year’s voting campaign reached a total of 167,000 travel professionals worldwide, including 110,000 travel agents. The awards ceremony took place in Turks & Caicos on the September 20, 2006.

IFA profits soar 75pc to $23 million
IFA Hotels & Resorts (IFA HR) has recorded a profit of KD6.7 million ($23.16 million), a 75 per cent increase over the forecast for the financial year ending June 30. IFA HR is engaged in the development of premier integrated and mixed-use hotel and tourism resort projects throughout Europe, the Middle East, the Indian Ocean region and Africa. Its projects are in Africa, Europe and the Middle East. IFA HR’s Talal Jassim Al-Bahar says the group will shortly announce expansions in Asia and further expansion into Africa.

Golden Tulip adds Amsterdam hotel
GOLDEN Tulip Hospitality has announced the expansion of its brand with a new hotel in Amsterdam, the Icon Hotel Apollo Amsterdam. The hotel has been added on the basis of a long term franchise agreement and will be operated by European Hotel Management. It currently features three interconnecting buildings comprising 219 guest bedrooms, including 18 suites and is close to the business district ‘de Zuid-as’, within walking distance of the RAI Centre, World Trade Centre, the famous Museum square and distinguished shopping areas. The hotel has a wide range of conference facilities (435 sqm).
