Majestic Hotel opens doors in Bur Dubai

THE four-star Majestic Hotel has just opened its doors in Bur Dubai, and hopes to create a strong brand impact, according to the hotel’s general manager.

“Just as any hotel chain out there started from one property, we are here to establish our own new brand. Our first footprint is a hotel tower located in the heart of Bur Dubai positioned in the vicinity of the Golden Sands apartments. Despite being situated in one of the liveliest areas of Dubai, the Majestic Hotel enjoys a quieter and easily accessible location,” says Alex Economides, who has been involved with the project from the stage of conceptualisation 15 months ago, through to opening day.
While the hotel was conceptualised and constructed to be a five-star hotel, Economides says market trends dictated otherwise. “The majority of hotels in Dubai are five-star and the fact is, the largest segment of the tour market does not consist of five-star spenders. Moreover, travellers’ options are becoming increasingly transparent, and as a result they pursue good value for money. To place our footprint in the market, we strive to meet the requirements of today’s traveller, and we want to provide guests more than they expect. We are a four-star hotel offering guests five-star quality,” he says.
The hotel caters to business travellers, families and couples, and offers a room types categorised into Single, Twin, Double, Deluxe, Suite, and Family Suite. “The views from the rooms are just breathtaking. Being the only tower in the immediate area rewards views to any direction of Dubai ranging from the Arabian Gulf sea to Sheikh Zayed Road and the Creek beyond,” he says.
While the hotel is not located on the beach front, Economides says it offers the largest pool deck in Bur Dubai where guests may lounge in the outdoors. For those still craving a trip to the beach, a complementary shuttle bus to and from Jumeirah Beach Park is provided daily.
On the dining and entertainment front, the Majestic features the Music Room, being billed the place to go for live music entertainment. Managing director Marios Economides is personally involved. The two resident bands and DJ are both handpicked to represent a fusion of tunes. “The live music begins early and for those looking for a lively atmosphere this is the place to go either for dinner, a social drink, or a late night dancing,” the general manager says. Other outlets include continental coffee shop Le Terrace, Lawazza Café, the non-smoking Breathers Lounge Bar, sports bar Barrels, Peaches food court, Taverna Greek restaurant and the rooftop Casper Lounge and Bar.
Khan Naheed Masarrat, the hotel’s director of sales and marketing says the hotel is seeking to be recognised as the first four-star hotel of choice in the region. “We would also penetrate into feeder markets and secure our market share. We will promote and market the hotel in the UAE, GCC countries and Europe and promote Dubai as a destination.
