It’s a BITE that’s bigger by 400pc

BITE 2006, the second Bahrain International Travel Expo, to be held in May will see a 400 per cent increase in exhibtion space compared to the previous edition of the show, according to organisers.

The exhibition, from May 9 to 11, will be held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre. Its area has been increased from last year’s 1,000 sqm to 4,000 sqm, according to orghanisers said Jamil Wafa, chairman and chief executive, Unitag Group.
Sunshine Tours, a subsidiary of Unitag Group, is the organiser of the event. Their foray into this new terrain was an example of how the private sector can supplement the government's efforts to develop tourism in Bahrain, said Wafa.
The debut BITE 2005 brought together 42 exhibitors from 15 countries and 12,000 visitors.The organisers expect this year’s show to be a sell-out with more than 75 exhibitors from various countries participating. Already, 65 per cent of the space has been booked, said one official. This year, for the first time in the Middle East, the show organisers will invite 75 MICE hosted buyers comprising senior corporate executives, MICE travel experts and professional journalists.
