New regional Radisson GMs
RADISSON SAS Hotels and Resorts, has appointed three new general managers across the region.
Radek Cais takes over as GM at the Diplomat Radisson SAS in Bahrain. He was formerly GM and MD of the Radisson SAS Strand Hotel in Stockholm. Christopher Pike (right) has returned as GM to the Radisson SAS in Muscat, where he was part of the opening team after spells at other Radisson properties. And Peter Schuler has been named the GM at the Radisson SAS Martinez Hotel, Beirut. Schuler was formerly director of F&B at the Radisson SAS in Kuwait.
Kiehm’s new season
FOUR Seasons Hotels and Resorts has appointed Matthias Kiehm as GM at its resort at Sharm El Sheikh. German-born Kiehm has a 20-year career in hospitality, including stints in Hamburg, Los Angeles, Boston and Chicago.
A Crowne for Edward
THE newly-rebranded Crowne Plaza Resort Salalah welcomes Edward Chaaya as GM. Chaaya has 22 years in the hotel industry including stints in the UAE and Egypt.
El Hakim named GM
WITH 26 years of hotel experience, Mamdouh El Hakim takes up the post of new GM of the Holiday Inn Downtown Dubai. El Hakim began his career back with the Holiday Inn in London and has since worked in Holiday Inn properties around the region.
New team at Traders
DUBAI’S newly-opened Traders Hotel has an all-new team, led by GM Wolf-Dieter Flecker. He has over 40 years experience in the hotel industry and this is his eighth opening or refurbishment project since joining the Shangri-La Group. Flecker leads an executive team comprising Steven Foo, EAM in-charge of rooms; Ruby Wirjono, finance manager; Anny Tan, director of sales and marketing; Dejan Popadic, F&B manager; Youssef Kandalaft, HR manager; and Devinder Kumar Kida Sharma, chief engineer.
Chef Kiesel at Le Royal Meridien
WOLFGANG Kiesel is the new executive chef at Le Royal Meridien, Abu Dhabi. He joins the newly rebranded hotel from Kuala Lumpur. Kiesel started his career at the Kempinski Frankfurt, before moving to Geneva, London, Hong Kong, Singapore and Borneo.
Haggag at Mövenpick
ASHRAF Haggag has been appointed director of sales and marketing for the Mövenpick Hotel Cairo Media City. Ashraf joins the Mövenpick team with more than 15 years of experience.
Millennium publicity for Nevine
JOINING the Millennium Hotel, Abu Dhabi, as PR manager is Nevine Albert Ezzat. An Egyptian, she holds a masters’ degree in mass communications from the American Univerisity in Cairo.
New appointments at Air Arabia
AIR ARABIA has appointed two new members – Rohit Ramachandran as commercial and business development analyst and Shalini Rajan (right) as UAE sales manager. Rohit comes from Singapore Airlines, while Shalini was previously corporate manager with KLM Airlines.

SUNIL Kumar has joined the Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel & Spa as information technology Manager. He comes from The Ritz-Carlton, Doha.
