Turkish Airlines shines at ATM 2023

Turkish Airlines took the centre stage at the Arabian Travel Market 2023.

The Airline has been recognized for its exceptional product and service offerings recently, winning several prestigious awards. These accolades include the Apex Best Seat Comfort in Europe, Apex Best Food & Beverage in Europe, Skytrax Worlds Best in Business Class Catering, Skytrax Best Airline in Europe, and Skytrax Best Airline in Southern Europe.

The airline has set its sights on consolidating revenue of over 50 billion USD by 2033, attaining an EBITDAR margin between 20 per cent and 25 per cent during 2023-2033 and contributing 140 billion USD to Turkey’s economy by 2033.

Stopover in Istanbul service is also expanding. Starting from May 1, passengers from UAE, Egypt, Lebanon and Georgia can also benefit from this service and this service will be active for 56 countries.

As an official sponsor of the UEFA Champions League, Turkish Airlines brought the excitement of the competition to the Arabian Travel Market 2023. The airline had set up a stand complete with a life-size replica of the Champions League trophy, drawing visitors for photo opportunities. 

 

GALF celebrates 10th Edition

The Global Airport Leaders’ Forum (GALF) celebrated its milestone 10th edition with a positive news that the Middle East is leading the traffic numbers in terms of recovering globally at 93 per cent of the pre-2019 levels and very soon Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia will cross the 100 per cent recovery.

Passenger traffic in Middle East region will have full recovery in 2024 and grow 4.2 per cent annually through 2040. 

In his keynote address Omar Bin Ghaleb, Deputy Director General of UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) said, “Our vision is to create a world class aviation eco system that embraces cutting edge technology, fosters innovation, promotes sustainability and delivers an exceptional customer experience. To achieve this vision, we have made significant investments in modernising our infrastructure, upgrading our regulatory framework and enhancing our operational capabilities.”

 

The Airport Show ends on a high note

The 22nd edition of the Airport Show, the world’s largest annual airport event hosted by Dubai, closed on high note in the wake of full recovery in the global aviation industry led by the Middle East, especially the UAE.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, who inaugurated the event, described Airport Show as a crucial event timed perfectly to accelerate the global aviation industry recovery.

Sheikh Ahmed said: “The construction of new airports and expansion and upgrading of existing facilities has gained pace to ensure airports meet the future demand as well as the needs and expectations of travellers.”

The 2023 Business Connect Programme hosted more than 100 buyers representing 35 companies from more than 20 countries. The widest-ever range of new technologies and innovative products focusing on sustainability, was showcased. The exhibitors and participants received an overwhelming response. 

 

Abu Dhabi based Sirius Aviation extends lease

Sirius Aviation Capital Holdings Limited (“Sirius”), a global aircraft asset manager headquartered in Abu Dhabi Global Market (“ADGM”), is pleased to announce that it has executed the lease extension of 2 x Airbus A320ceo aircraft on lease to Air New Zealand.

The aircraft, manufactured in 2011, forms part of a portfolio of aircraft owned by a joint venture between Sirius and EAVF II DAC (“a company owned by HPS Investment Partners LLC”).

Rob Bermingham, SVP Commercial of Sirius, says: “We are very pleased to continue our valued partnership with Air New Zealand and support the airline in its growth. The extension will see both Airbus A320ceo remain in operation with Air New Zealand.”
