The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), has launched a contact centre in Dubai to cater to GCC travelers and travel agents’ queries on tourism opportunities in Jordan.
Marwan Khoury, managing director of the JTB said, “The contact centre will serve as a central information hub and resource centre for all agents and travellers in GCC, in particular the UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. The Gulf region is a very important market for us and we want to increase awareness about Jordan’s tourism potential amongst our target audience.”
Initially the contact centre will establish links with travel agents and attend to their requests about tourism in Jordan, via the following channels - telephone, email and fax. All the details required by clients will be sent in a maximum of 24 to 48 hours from the time of receipt.
A direct contact number for all enquiries in each of the four countries is made available to the agents and individuals. JTB will also use the contact centre for outbound calls and avail the infrastructure during times of low activities.
“The JTB wants to offer tour operators, travel agents, and individual travellers, a central contact point that provides promotional and support services for Arab and expatriate travellers. Jordan has a wealth of incentives from historical attractions, remote desert canyons, and beautiful scenery to excellent hotel accommodation, luxurious spas, diverse shopping, and of course warm hospitality. Such tourist information coming from the contact centre will be beneficial for travel agents selling Jordan as an ideal holiday destination,” added Khoury.
Jordan is renowned for the rock-carved city of Petra - a Unesco World Heritage Site, as well as the wilderness of Wadi Rum, the Red Sea coral reefs, and the healing powers of the Dead Sea.
