Michael Gnaegi has joined the Beach Rotana Hotel & Towers as food and beverage manager.
He has over seven years of experience in the hotel management industry.
Michael studied hospitality management in Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne, in Switzerland and begun his career in the Grand Hotel Victoria, Jungrau.
His first step abroad was with the Four Seasons Hotel where he traveled within the chain for six years and covered three continents.
In 2001 he joined the Emirates Towers in Dubai as F&B manager before moving to the Beach Rotana Hotel & Towers in Abu Dhabi.
Özel was most recently the F&B Manager of the Mövenpick Hotel Istanbul, Turkey, which opened in April 2003.
Özel is Turkish, and graduated from the Bilkent University School of Tourism and Hotel Management.
He has worked with Hyatt Hotels and Swissôtel in Turkey and China, and Shangri-La in China, prior to joining Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts in May 2002.
Fluent in French, Arabic and English, Baradei gained work experience in hotels in France and Lebanon during his studies, after which he completed an internship with the Abela company in Dubai.
As well as supervising catering at Dubai International Airport, he also worked on projects such as the Dubai Air Show and IDEX, as well as in catering management in Yemen, before moving to Beirut to assist in the opening phase of the Gefinor Rotana hotel as guest relations manager and duty manager.
Harouni, who was formerly food and beverage manager with the owning group A’amal, had responsibility for its 12 international restaurant outlets as well as new brand launches into the country.
Prior to this, he worked in a variety of positions at the Sheraton Kuwait, having joined that hotel as a trainee in 1980 and eventually moving up to oversee outside catering and banquet sales.
Josef hails from Austria and has worked in five-star hotels in Europe, the Middle East and the Far East.
Having worked in Austria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Abu Dhabi, Malaysia, Vietnam, China, Beijing, Hong Kong gained him international experience and reputation in international cuisine.
Josef looks forward to introducing some of his signature dishes to the new menus, which he is introducing to the hotel’s outlets, and to Chequers Restaurant.
Lumley’s career in spas and beauty treatments commenced in the UK 10 years ago as a medical therapist.
Her first move to this region came in 1998 when she assumed the role of training and brand manager for Mary Cohr in Abu Dhabi.
In 2001, she directed The Royal Waters Health Spa in Dubai where the main focus was on the mind, body and attitude of the clients.
Soueid started his career in the hospitality industry at Marriott Prince de Galles Hotel in 1991 as Night Auditor and then moved to JW Marriott Hotel Dubai in 1993 as guest relation manager.
Thereafter he worked as an assistant front office manager and residence manager until accepting the position of general manager. He was on the task force team, which opened Renaissance in Tunis and J W Marriott Hotel Kuwait.
Formerly a Director of easyJet, Europe’s market leading low-cost carrier, he will help ensure the airline’s successful implementation of a low fare strategy, the company said.
McMann has extensive aviation industry experience, having previously worked with the British Airports Authority (BAA) and British Airways, in addition to easyJet.
Gillian Arnott joins the group from KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (Doha), where she was part of the sales and marketing team.
