Microsoft offers academic scholarships

Microsoft has recently announced that it will offer two academic scholarships to The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management, which will be made available to UAE National students enrolling in any of The Emirates Academy’s accredited degree programmes.

The two academic scholarships will each cover about 50 per cent of the total costs for the four-year degree programmes in International Hospitality Management or International Travel & Tourism Management at The Emirates Academy and will be awarded to UAE Nationals.

In line with the business strategies of both Microsoft and The Emirates Academy to promote and support the use of technology in the tourism and hospitality industry, the academic scholarship includes a requirement for the student to pass several Microsoft exams during the first academic year.

Abdullatif Al Mulla, general manager for Microsoft South Gulf said: “Microsoft is pleased to support the development of young UAE talent in the burgeoning industry of hospitality management. Helping youngsters realise their potential in such a dynamic field demonstrates our commitment to nurturing excellence locally which shines worldwide.”

Ron Hilvert, principal of The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management said: “We would like to thank Microsoft for their continued support of The Emirates Academy and we are very proud to be recognised as a leader in educational technology in the region.” He added: “At The Emirates Academy and Jumeirah International we are very committed to developing UAE Nationals and we have seen an increased positive response and interest in careers within our industry. We look forward to welcoming even more UAE Nationals selecting a career in the hospitality and tourism industry, joining others that are already studying and working with us.”
