Spent some time in lost luggage limbo this holiday season? You're not alone.
According to a report by the Sydney-based Centre For Asia Pacific Aviation, airlines lose a passenger's bag every 90 seconds, costing carriers in the Asia-Pacific region $125 million each year. The report, released last week, said Asia-Pacific airlines lost 1.5 million bags out of a total of nearly 400 million bags carried each year. Carriers paid out $83 in compensation and delivery costs for each mishandled bag, equating to $0.40 per passenger carried, it added.
