Air India expanded its operations out of Bahrain, with a sixth weekly flight to India.
The new flight, AI 872, is operated with 202 seater A-310 aircraft on sector Bombay/ Calicut/ Doha/ Bahrain/ Bombay, said area manager for Bahrain and Jordan Orchid Raikhan. The flight leaves Bombay at 12.25 pm and arrives in Calicut at 2 pm. It leaves Calicut at 3 pm and reaches Bahrain via Doha at 6.30 pm. The return flight leaves Bahrain at 7.30pm and arrives Bombay at 1.15am on the following day. The flight offers connections at Bombay for Bangalore at 3.50am, Madras at 4.20am, Delhi at 5.05am and Hyderabad 6.15am. "The new flight has been introduced to offer more departures out of Bahrain into Bombay, with convenient transit connections for onward points in India," said Raikhan. "With this flight, Air India operates three departures out of Bahrain into Bombay on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday besides one departure on Friday via Cochin. "This was also introduced in view of Air India's Thursday flight AI876 being operated with A310 aircraft instead of the 293-seater B74D Combi aircraft, which was discontinued."
