Fujairah airport traffic records 54pc growth


The Fujairah International Airport has recorded a 54 per cent growth in passenger traffic during the past 10 months compared to the same period last year.

Khaled Al Mazroui, director-general of the airport, said in a report that the number of passengers increased from 34,034 to 52,540. The UAE airport also recorded a six per cent rise in the quantity of cargo handled during the first 10 months of this year compared to the same period in 2001.

Al Mazroui said he expects a further increase in the movement of passengers, cargo and planes during November and December.
