Hilton International has appointed Guy Epsom as regional director of sales and marketing - Arabian Peninsula.
The new appointment aims to drive Hilton's ambitious expansion plans in the burgeoning hospitality industry in the region. 'Hilton International, which operates 10 prestigious properties across the Gulf states, is currently undertaking a regional expansion program which involves the opening of several new properties in the 2001,' said Epsom. 'My new position is extremely challenging since we will be building on the rich heritage of the Hilton brand and the considerable new developments which have taken place in Europe, in order to offer new and exciting hotel experiences consistent with the number one hotel brand in the world.' Epsom will be based in Dubai where he is setting up a new Hilton Regional Sales and Marketing office, which will include a Hilton Worldwide Reservations Centre, Hilton HHonors management office, an International Sales Office and a top class marketing and sales team. With more than 20 years of experience in the hotel industry, Epsom has worked in three continents and with four different hotel groups. His most recent experience in the GCC includes two years in Riyadh and four years in Dubai. Hilton currently operates six hotels in the UAE, two in Saudi Arabia and one each in Bahrain and Oman.
