Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB), in collaboration with the
Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), has signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) with RX Global, one of the world’s leading events and
exhibition organisers, to explore opportunities for collaboration in the
Kingdom of Bahrain through exhibitions that facilitate trade and create
opportunities for investment and growth.
The MOU was signed in the presence of Her Excellency Fatima
bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism, by Aage Hansen, General Manager of
Exhibition World Bahrain, and Hugh Jones, CEO of RX Global.
The agreement reflects a shared commitment to exploring how
exhibitions can bring businesses together, support economic activity and
contribute to the development of Bahrain’s business events sector.
Under the MOU, the parties intend to maintain an active
dialogue, share information on potential opportunities and explore areas where
their respective experience, networks and resources can support the development
of exhibitions in the Kingdom.
The agreement provides a framework for identifying potential
collaborations, with any specific project or exhibition to be subject to a
separate agreement.
Fatima Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism, said: “This MOU
reflects Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening its position as a leading
destination for international exhibitions and business events. Partnerships
with globally renowned organisers such as RX Global provide valuable
opportunities to attract exhibitions that connect businesses, facilitate trade,
and encourage investment. Through continued collaboration with our
international partners, we aim to further develop Bahrain’s business events
sector, enhance its contribution to the national economy, and create new
opportunities for growth across tourism and other key industries.”
Sara Buhejji, CEO of BTEA and Chairperson of EWB, stated:
“This MOU represents an important step in strengthening Bahrain’s engagement
with leading international exhibition organisers. RX Global brings extensive
industry experience and a strong international network, and we look forward to
exploring opportunities to work together to attract exhibitions that connect
businesses, encourage investment, and create value for our economy. Through our
collaboration with RX Global, we aim to build on Bahrain’s growing capabilities
as a destination for international exhibitions and business events.”
Hugh Jones, CEO of RX Global, said: “We are pleased to sign
this MOU with BTEA and EWB. Bahrain has a key role to play in connecting
