Radisson Hotel Group has announced the signing of Radisson Blu Hotel, Abha, marking its entry into the Saudi Arabian city and further expanding its presence across the Kingdom.

The new-build property will feature 123 rooms, including 14 suites, with an opening scheduled for the third quarter of 2029.

Located in the Alarin district, the hotel will be approximately seven kilometres from Abha International Airport and 13 kilometres from the city centre.

Its location will benefit from ongoing infrastructure improvements, including the airport’s expansion and the Abha Airport Dual Road Project.

It will also be close to The Point, a mixed-use development featuring retail, entertainment and hospitality facilities.

The property will cater to both leisure and business travellers, offering a restaurant, café and pool juice bar, alongside meeting and event spaces. Leisure facilities will include a gym, salon and swimming pool.

Ahmed Abdullah Al Salamah, Chairman of Ahmed Abdullah Al Salamah Real Estate Development & Investment Group, said: “Our partnership with Radisson Hotel Group to develop Radisson BluHotel, Abha reflects our confidence in Aseer’s tourism potential. Together, Ahmed Abdullah Al Salamah Real Estate Development & Investment Group and Al Fahd Trading, Industry and Contracting Company aim to create a hotel that combines international hospitality standards with the region’s distinctive character. We look forward to building on this relationship through further investments that support Saudi Vision 2030 and create long-term value.”

Elie Milky, Chief Development Officer, Middle East, Northeast Africa, Greece & Cyprus, Radisson Hotel Group, commented: “Our first signing in Abha marks an important step in expanding Radisson Hotel Group’s presence across Saudi Arabia, particularly secondary cities. We see opportunities to introduce our brands to more destinations across the Kingdom, working with owners to develop hotels that respond to local demand and evolving traveller expectations. The hotel will be a landmark addition to the city by establishing a strong foundation for our presence in the beautiful Aseer region of the Kingdom. I personally thank Ahmed Al Salamah for his trust and for this expanding partnership.”

The signing supports Radisson Hotel Group’s wider Saudi expansion strategy. With 50 hotels open and under development across the Kingdom, Saudi Arabia is among the Group’s five largest global markets and a key development opportunity in the Middle East.

The Group aims to reach 100 hotels operating or under development in the Kingdom by 2030. -TradeArabia News Service
