Oman Air and Finnair have launched a new codeshare partnership to expand travel connections between Finland, Oman and Australia, strengthening both airlines’ global networks through their membership in the oneworld Alliance.
The agreement marks
Oman Air’s first new codeshare partnership since joining the alliance in June
2025, providing passengers with additional travel options and connections
beyond the airlines’ respective networks.
The partnership
enables Oman Air passengers to connect to Helsinki via London Heathrow, where
the Omani carrier operates 11 weekly flights from its Muscat hub.
Connections will also
be available through Finnair-operated flights from Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt,
Munich, Zurich, Milan and Rome to Helsinki.
The agreement also
expands connectivity to Melbourne via Bangkok, where Oman Air operates
twice-daily flights.
Members of both
airlines’ loyalty programmes will benefit from oneworld recognition, including
tier privileges and service benefits throughout their journeys.
Rohan Patell, Head of
Partnerships and Alliances at Oman Air, said, "Our entry into the oneworld
Alliance was an important milestone in Oman Air's growth journey, and our
partnership with Finnair represents an exciting next step in unlocking the full
value of alliance membership. Together, we have significantly expanded travel
opportunities, giving Oman Air guests access to Helsinki and Finnair's
extensive network beyond."
Fredrik Wildtgrube,
Senior Vice President of Alliances and Airlines Partnerships at Finnair, said,
“We warmly welcome Oman Air customers on board our flights and offer them
smooth connections to Helsinki and an opportunity to discover the unique beauty
of Finland. We look forward to expanding the partnership further”.
The codeshare
agreement represents the first phase of a broader collaboration, with both
airlines exploring opportunities to expand cooperation in the future.
The partnership also
supports Oman Air’s strategy to attract more international visitors to the
Sultanate, allowing passengers to experience Muscat through the airline’s
stopover programme or continue their journeys to explore Oman’s heritage,
landscapes and hospitality.
By combining their
networks, the airlines aim to improve travel flexibility and strengthen
connections between the Middle East, Europe and Australia. -TradeArabia News Service
