The King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development
Authority has secured international accreditation for 10 hiking trails, making
them the first trails in Saudi Arabia to receive such recognition.
The accreditation was awarded by the Saudi Climbing and
Hiking Federation following comprehensive assessments to ensure the trails meet
internationally recognised standards for safety and quality.
The certification is expected to support a safer experience for
visitors engaging in mountain hiking and nature exploration.
The milestone further strengthens the reserve’s position as
an emerging destination for adventure tourism and ecotourism, while
highlighting efforts to develop tourism infrastructure across the Kingdom.
The initiative also aligns with Saudi Arabia’s wider
objectives to enhance quality of life, promote sustainable tourism and expand
