Bahrain, represented by Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB) and the Bahrain Dental Society (BDS), has won the bid to host the FDI World Dental Congress in 2028, strengthening the Kingdom’s position as a destination for major international congresses and professional events.
The event will bring the global dental community to Bahrain
for the annual congress of the FDI World Dental Federation (FDI),
which represents more than one million dentists worldwide.
The congress will provide a platform for advancing dental
science and practice, fostering professional collaboration and strengthening
international ties across the oral health sector.
The bid was jointly led by EWB and BDS, highlighting
cooperation between Bahrain’s dental community and its national exhibition and
convention infrastructure.
The partnership combines local professional expertise with
EWB’s capabilities in hosting major international events.
Sara Buhejji, CEO of Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions
Authority (BTEA) and Chairperson of Exhibition World Bahrain, said: “This
notable achievement reflects the strength of our partnerships and the Kingdom’s
growing reputation as a destination for major international congresses. This
prestigious event will bring together leading dental professionals,
researchers, innovators, and industry experts from around the world, creating
valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and professional
development. We look forward to working closely with the Bahrain Dental Society
and FDI to deliver a world-class Congress while showcasing Bahrain’s
hospitality, connectivity, and capabilities as a leading destination for
business events.”
Dr. Abbas Al Fardan, President of the Bahrain Dental
Society, said: “It is a source of immense pride for us to see the Kingdom of
Bahrain selected to host and organise the FDI World Dental Congress 2028 at
Exhibition World Bahrain. This achievement reflects the dedication and
commitment of the Bahrain Dental society to raising the profile of the Kingdom
and showcasing the capabilities of our dental community across professional,
scientific, and societal fields. Hosting FDI 2028 is not only an achievement to
celebrate but also a significant responsibility and challenge for Bahrain’s
dental professionals, as well as our partners and colleagues across the Gulf.
Through collaboration and collective effort, we are confident that we can
present the world with a distinguished image of Bahraini and Gulf dental
professionals and demonstrate our ability to host international events to the
highest standards”.
The FDI World Dental Congress features a scientific
programme, interactive forums covering key developments in dentistry and an
international exhibition showcasing new technologies, innovations and solutions
across the dental industry.
The annual congress rotates among host countries, bringing
together dental professionals, researchers, industry leaders and policymakers
to exchange knowledge and discuss the future of oral healthcare.
The 2028 congress will also create opportunities for local
and international dental companies to engage through exhibitions, business
meetings and networking activities.
Bahrain’s selection to host the event supports the Kingdom’s
strategy of attracting major international association congresses and
knowledge-focused events.
The congress is expected to contribute to the development of
Bahrain’s business-events sector while creating opportunities for professional
collaboration, knowledge exchange and wider economic activity. -TradeArabia News Service
