Jazeera Airways has launched direct flights between Kuwait and Addis Ababa, marking the Kuwaiti low-cost carrier’s newest destination in Africa and strengthening air connectivity between the two countries.
The inaugural service was celebrated at
Jazeera Terminal 5 with a ceremony attended by Ethiopian Ambassador to Kuwait Dr
Sied Jibril and Jazeera executives.
The airline will operate three weekly
flights, providing greater travel convenience for more than 70,000 Ethiopian
nationals living in Kuwait.
Jibril said: “Today’s inaugural flight
represents an important new chapter in the longstanding relationship between
Ethiopia and Kuwait. Direct air connectivity plays a vital role in bringing
countries and communities closer together, and we welcome Jazeera Airways’ new
service to Addis Ababa. We believe this route will contribute to stronger
tourism, trade, investment and cultural exchange, while making travel more
convenient for the large Ethiopian community in Kuwait. We look forward to
seeing this connection grow and create new opportunities for both countries.”
