Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) is entering its final weeks with a packed programme of concerts, comedy, family entertainment and shopping promotions running from August 10 to 16 across the city.
Shopping Promotions and Family Entertainment
Shoppers have until August 12 to participate in the DSS Lucky Receipt
promotion. Customers spending AED300 ($82) or more at participating electronics
retailers are automatically entered into daily draws, with 10 winners selected
each day. Prizes include smart devices, home appliances, gaming products and
lifestyle items from retailers including Jacky’s Electronics, Virgin Megastore,
Jumbo and Sharaf DG.
From August 14 to 16, City Centre Deira will host the DSS
Performing Arts Fest, featuring roaming performances, circus acts and family
entertainment from 10am to 10pm. The event is free to attend.
Mercato Shopping Mall will also host the final week of its
summer entertainment programme from 12 to 16 August, with performances by
Cirque Mystique and Street Comedy – The Gentleman Duo. Children can also enjoy
the mall’s indoor slide for free.
Back-to-School Offers
The Back-to-School campaign continues with Beat the Clock
with Rivoli, running from August 14 to 16. Shoppers can access offers on
watches and eyewear, while 30 winners will receive Rivoli Group vouchers worth
between AED1,000 and AED5,000, with total prizes valued at AED60,000.
Live Music Takes Centre Stage
Music fans can look forward to several major concerts. Beat
The Heat DXB returns on August 15 at Dubai World Trade Centre with Marwan
Moussa and Hleem, with tickets starting at AED105.
Also on August 15, Coca-Cola Arena will host Thaalam Beats,
featuring Benny Dayal, Usha Uthup and Thaikkudam Bridge in a celebration of
South Indian music. Tickets start at AED75.
Lucky Ali will perform at Coca-Cola Arena on August 16,
bringing favourites including O Sanam, Ek Pal Ka Jeena and Safarnama. Tickets
start at AED125.
Comedy Across Dubai
The Laughter Factory will tour Dubai from August 13 to 15,
featuring Ricky Balshaw, Tevin Everett, Abz Ali, Miqdaad Dohadwala and Andrea
Brooks. Tickets start at AED175, with shows taking place at Bla Bla by
McGettigan’s, Radisson Hotel Dubai Damac Hills and Dukes The Palm Dubai.
