Oman offers new free 14-day visa for tourists from select countries

Oman has introduced a new free 14-day tourist visa for nationals of selected countries to provide greater flexibility for visitors and enhancing the country's tourism offerings.

The visa follows amendments to the Executive Regulations of the Foreign Residence Law.

Under the amendments, the 14-day tourist visa may be granted by the competent authority to nationals of countries designated by the authority, upon request and in accordance with conditions it specifies.

The regulations also allow holders of the new 14-day visa to replace it, before its expiry, with any of the other tourist visa categories provided for under the regulations, subject to the applicable requirements and prescribed fees.

In addition, a new entry has been added to the schedule of entry visa fees under Article 29 of the Executive Regulations, formally introducing the 14-day tourist visa as a separate visa category with free cost.
