Saudi hotel occupancy reaches 57.3pc in Q4 2025

The average hotel room occupancy rate in Saudi Arabia stood at 57.3% in the fourth quarter of 2025, marking an increase of 1.3 percentage points compared to 56% during the same period in 2024.

 These figures were reported by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) in its latest tourism establishments report.

During the same period, serviced apartments and other hospitality facilities recorded an average occupancy rate of 55.9%, showing minimal change year-on-year.

GASTAT data also highlighted improvements in occupancy trends alongside notable growth in the number of hospitality establishments across the Kingdom. 

The total number of licensed tourist hospitality facilities reached 5,900 in Q4 2025, representing a 34.2% increase from 4,425 facilities in Q4 2024. 

Of these, serviced apartments and similar facilities made up 52% (3,090 establishments), while hotels accounted for 48% (2,847 establishments).

The report indicated that the average daily hotel room rate dropped to approximately SR389 ($104) in Q4 2025, reflecting an 11.7% decline from SR440 in the same quarter of the previous year. 

Similarly, the average daily rate for serviced apartments and other facilities decreased to SR207, down 5.7% from SR220 in Q4 2024.

In terms of stay duration, hotel guests stayed an average of 3.8 nights, up 4.7% from 3.6 nights a year earlier.

Meanwhile, the average stay in serviced apartments and similar facilities rose to 2.2 nights, a 3.6% increase from 2.1 nights.

Employment in tourism-related activities also grew, reaching 1,030,574 workers in Q4 2025—an increase of 6.6% compared to 966,531 workers in the same period of 2024. 

Saudi nationals accounted for 247,481 workers (24%), while non-Saudis made up 783,093 workers (76%).

Male workers represented the majority of the workforce at 86.7% (893,924 workers), while female participation stood at 13.3%, totaling 136,650 workers, according to the report. -TradeArabia News Service
