Norwegian Cruise Line celebrated the christening of its newest ship, Norwegian Luna, in Miami with over 2,000 guests.

The ceremony featured its godmother and hull artist, ELLE, who also designed the ship’s artwork, La Luna.

The 1,056-foot ship can host 3,565 guests and offers a wide range of experiences, including the Aqua Slidecoaster, interactive gaming zones, family-friendly attractions, and new multigenerational spaces like Luna Midway and Horizon Park.

Entertainment includes shows inspired by Elton John and the Eagles, plus immersive performances and kids’ activities. The ship offers diverse accommodations and 17 dining options alongside 18 bars and lounges.

From April 2026 to April 2027, Norwegian Luna will sail Caribbean itineraries, visiting private destinations in the Bahamas and Belize.

In 2027, it will also operate cruises from New York to Bermuda with extended port stays.

“Norwegian Luna represents the evolution of NCL — a brand built on freedom, flexibility and delivering experiences that resonate with every type of traveler,” said Mark Kazlauskas, president of Norwegian Cruise Line. “Curated to deliver attractions for families with the NCL-exclusive Aqua Slidecoaster, and the all-new Moon Climber and Luna Midway activities; as well as adult-only experiences like the late-night production of ‘LunaTique,’ Norwegian Luna is the perfect ship for multigenerational travellers looking for a warm vacation in the tropics. With itineraries designed to bring guests to Great Stirrup Cay, our private island in the Bahamas, they will have the opportunity to experience firsthand the highly anticipated offerings that our guests are raving about.”

“Today’s christening of Norwegian Luna marks an important milestone for our Company and a moment of great pride for our entire team,” said John Chidsey, president and chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. “As she prepares for this special voyage, I look forward to the remarkable experiences she will deliver and to the exciting future ahead for our brand and our guests.”

“Celebrating Norwegian Luna as the ship’s godmother is an incredible honour, and creating ‘La Luna’ has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my career," said ELLE, godmother and hull artist of Norwegian Luna. “The moon has always symbolised connection, rhythm and transformation, forces that mirror the journeys we take in our own lives. I hope every guest feels a sense of wonder and possibility as Norwegian Luna carries them toward new horizons.” -TradeArabia News Service
