Sofitel Dubai The Palm has achieved Green Globe Platinum Certification, underscoring its commitment to sustainability and support for the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 goals.
Part of the Accor
Group, the property earned a 93% rating in an independent audit by Farnek,
meeting or exceeding more than 380 sustainability indicators.
Energy efficiency
initiatives include rooftop solar panels supplying 50% of hot water, LED
lighting, smart controls, and building system optimisations, saving 3.94
million kWh and reducing carbon emissions by 1,779 metric tonnes.
Water-saving measures,
including recycling air conditioning condensation to irrigate 27,000 m² of
gardens and installing aerators, cut consumption by 7.38 million gallons,
reducing 35 tonnes of CO₂. Recycling efforts mitigated 10.67 tonnes of
CO₂ and prevented 2,579 m² of landfill waste.
The hotel emphasises
staff and guest engagement through sustainability training, monthly “green
team” meetings, and educational activities.
Responsible
procurement of eco-friendly materials aligns with Accor’s sustainability
commitments.
