The impressive property

The much anticipated Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach has opened its doors just in time for the spring tourist influx.  The new property marks a fresh style for Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts and is the group’s second addition to the city complementing the existing city property Mövenpick Hotel & Apartments Bur Dubai, UAE.

With 294 rooms, three food and beverage outlets and a spa and pool deck the hotel is set to become an entertainment hub well placed in the heart of the already buzzing Jumeirah Beach Residence.  Predicting a 60/40 split leisure to corporate, it is its location that will make the property boom. Sited overlooking the sandy shores of the Arabian Gulf, guests enjoy the stone’s-throw stroll to the beach or the sand free infinity pool sitting above.

Each of the guest rooms and suites located across 23 floors, comes with a private balcony boasting views of the marina or sea and is finished with vibrant décor. The top three levels are dedicated executive floors and the Executive Lounge offers breathtaking views of the Palm Jumeirah.

A real feature of the property is the funky vibe carried throughout the hotel, best likened to the atmosphere one can find in Miami. The sunlight-filled lobby is dotted with palm trees and carries a signature scent courtesy of the aromatherapy system installed throughout the entire building. Employees are friendly, inviting and have personality with no ties in sight and they promise real attention to guest satisfaction.

The Falls lobby lounge is nestled among the palm trees and offers an ideal vantage point for the passing foot traffic of The Walk making it easy to pass an afternoon without notice. The West Beach Bistro offers a modern twist on old classics. Chef de cuisine Jason Wass is one of Gordon Ramsay’s protégés and brings a similar energy and passion to the kitchen. With a different lunch, dinner and brunch menu, not to mention the infusion of drinks, it is sure to be a venue to excite the taste buds.

The jewel in the crown sits on the second floor, The Talk. The Talk, courtesy of executive chef Spencer Black, is a three-concept restaurant transporting the guest from morning to night through an imaginative culinary journey.  The all-day dining is best compared to a food emporium with separate pizza oven, Tandoor oven, grill and pasta station. The morning bakery takes breakfast to a new level with dedicated ‘toast painters’ and indulgent pastries.  A built-in Sushi bar creates a host of Japanese delicacies and favourites offering a great synergy with the third element of the outlet, the lounge bar. Covering both inside and outside, the lounge bar spills onto the pool deck complete with cabanas - ideal for sunset moments.

The spa and fitness club, Body Talk, has a host of treatments designed to relax the most tense guest and even has tailored bronzing packages to ensure the best is made of the sun in a safe manner. Steam and sauna rooms are also on hand and are the perfect wind down after an intense workout in the state-of-the-art gym.

In addition to all the leisure facilities, a dedicated meeting and events floor with ballroom and break-out areas is also available. The Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach is the new kid on the block and sure to bring excitement and energy to the table. American general manager Peter O’Connor has a certain vision for the property and conservative is not in his vocabulary. “Dubai is a cosmopolitan, fun and very much ‘happening’ city.  Visitors attracted to such a destination are individuals who have a zest for life, expect high quality and are specific in their requirements,” he said. “At the Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach we aim to create a funky chill-out vibe with seamless service.”
