Car rental major Avis is offering a range of special deals in the UAE next month to visitors to the popular Dubai Shopping Festival.
Visitors to DSF are being offered three-day car rental at just Dh520 ($141) and Dh960 for a week, inclusive of collision damage waiver and unlimited kilometres. Avis is also offering special rates for larger vehicles, a chauffeur option at a special rate of Dh160 for eight hours and 30 per cent discount off standard tariffs if the booking is done online at www.avisuae.com Another tempting deal includes a free desert safari for one person and 25 per discount for a second person on car rentals during March from Avis. The safari includes a barbecue dinner, camel riding, belly dancing and dune bashing and is provided by Net Tours, Dubai. The UAE is just one of the 112 countries where Avis provides its services through 2,700 locations serving eight million customers a year. In the Middle East, Avis operations, run by licensees, are spread across Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria and the UAE, said the company. It is also present in Cyprus, Greece, Tunisia, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Kazakstan. Avis says it continues to seek areas for further expansion with appropriate partners. Its recent openings include new locations in Cairo, Egypt; Belek, Antalya and Diyarbakir airport in Turkey; and two offices in Beirut, Lebanon. Avis says it offers 8,500 vehicles from a wide variety of manufacturers across the Middle East. These include Opel, Fiat, Peugeot, Mitsubishi, Honda, Toyota, Mercedes, Nissan, and others. Customers also gain from the company's partnerships with airlines, hotels, and travel partners. "Currently we have frequent traveller partnerships with Saudia (Alfursan) and Turkish Airlines, as well as British Airways which flies to the region. We also have a Fly Drive partnership with Kuwait Airways," said a spokesperson. "We also have partnerships with Golden Tulip/Summit; Hilton; Hyatt and Starwood."
