KINGFISHER Airlines has suspended its flights between Bangalore and London, and its feeder service between Colombo and Bangalore with effect from September 15, 2009, a company statement said.
This was necessary after the airline examined booked loads and yields during the period September to November 2009. All guests currently booked will be accommodated on the London to Mumbai services with appropriate connections, continued the statement.
The airline also announced detailed plans for eight new international routes. This month two new routes will be launched, between Mumbai to Singapore and Hong Kong. Both will be daily direct return services and will be operated using the new Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
There are also plans to commence flights between Mumbai and Bangkok, between Mumbai and Dubai and between Mumbai and Colombo.
The airline has also applied to the Ministry of Civil Aviation to commence operations on the New Delhi to London sector. The launch of this new route, once approved, will mark the first time that Kingfisher Airlines will commence international flights out of New Delhi.
Other plans are to start flights from New Delhi to Bangkok and from New Delhi to Dubai.
In June the launch of daily direct flights between Dubai and Bangalore by Kingfisher Airlines marked the airline’s debut entry into the UAE market. The airline connects to more than 50 destinations in India from Bangalore.
Passengers flying in to Bangalore from Dubai have almost immediate connections from Bangalore to Mangalore, Goa, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Pune, Kolkata, Hubli, Belgaum, Nagpur, Guwahati, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad and all major metros in India.
