How has 2007 fared for Fairmont Hotels & Resorts?
Fairmont rebranded three Kenyan hotels in late 2007.

The collection encompassed The Norfolk Hotel in Nairobi, the Mount Kenya Safari Club and the Mara Safari Club. Plans are underway for $35 million in phased enhancements to these properties. Project partners include Kingdom Hotel Investment Group and IFA Hotels & Resorts.
The Fairmont Towers, Heliopolis in Cairo opened in autumn 2007. Project partners included Gulf Egypt for Hotels & Tourism, United Real Estate Company and Kuwait Projects Company (KIPCO).

What are the company’s plans for 2008?
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts continues to expand its brand presence globally, with a number of exciting hotel and mixed-use projects in its development pipeline. Located throughout the world, these properties will be introduced over the course of the next few years and include hotels in Kenya, Cairo, Abu Dhabi, Vancouver, South Africa and Asia.
In 2008 a second flag will be flown in Cairo at the 552 room Fairmont Nile City, which overlooking the Nile river and will be 30 minutes away from the Sphinx and pyramids of Giza. 
Fairmont Heritage Place Ghiradelli Square will bring an exclusive urban private residence club to one of San Francisco’s most historic neighbourhoods. Located in the original chocolate factories, the residences will offer extraordinary views of San Francisco Bay and Alcatraz Island.
The 25 story Fairmont Beijing with 235 rooms is set to open in summer 2008.

And Beyond?
By 2009 The Palm, Jumeirah will house the Fairmont Palm Island and the Fairmont Palm Residences - a 400 room luxury resort with 460 vacation ownership residences.
At the same time the Fairmont Pittsburgh, featuring 185 guest rooms will be completed.The hotel will be built according to sustainable design and construction guidelines, complementing Fairmont’s philosophy of operational sustainability and responsible tourism.
The Fairmont Pacific Rim next to the Vancouver Conference Center will include a 415-room luxury hotel and 200 residential condos. 
In 2010 the Fairmont Zimbali, located in the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal, will feature a 150 room luxury resort hotel, championship golf course, full-service spa and vacation ownership products.
Fairmont will soon (by 2010) have a footing in Oman, with plans to manage a new property on The Wave, Muscat project, a leading tourism and beachfront residential development located along the Omani shoreline on the Indian Ocean.
The Fairmont Abu Dhabi Resort & Villas will be located within the new Marina city development, consisting of 24 high rise residential towers connected by a four-level podium of commercial office space, food and beverage outlets and retail space, all with underground parking. The hotel, due for completion in 2011, will feature 400 guestrooms and suites plus 100 one and two-bedroom long-term serviced apartments, a Willow Stream spa, banquet space, and food and beverage outlets.  Fairmont will manage the resort on behalf of the Abu Dhabi- based National Investment Corporation.
Fairmont Kingdom of Sheba, located on the crescent of The Palm Jumeirah, will by 2011 have 510 hotel rooms, 50 Fairmont Heritage Place homes and 100 residences, as well as extensive conference facilities as well as outdoor leisure amenities.
