More than 10,000 people visited Bahrain’s newest attraction, the Lost Paradise of Dilmun water park in its opening week, according to a statement.

It is the largest water park in the region and is located close to the Bahrain International Circuit.
The park received more than 7,000 visitors on its opening weekend, said chairman Muhannad Hamad.
“[It was] a huge success,” he told the Gulf Daily News. “We hope the Lost Paradise of Dilmun will contribute to a successful future for the kingdom's leisure and tourist industries to become the most popular water park in the region."
The Lost Paradise of Dilmun water park opened early September and is the second component of the $1.3 billion-plus Al Areen development.
Located near the Bahrain International Circuit, the park, which spans 77,000sqm, it will handle up to 5,000 guests per day.
The attraction is expected to pull in 200,000 visitors a year and will have about 20,000 sq m for future expansion and car parking. It will help to create around 150 new jobs. The park includes slides and pools, a family raft ride, a wave pool, a spa pool, souk, restaurants and shaded parking for 650 vehicles. Fully qualified lifeguards are to be based at every attraction and the park is to have a staffed first aid station as well as male and female prayer rooms.
It has been designed and will be operated by Malaysian-based company Sim Leisure Consultants.
