Conference hotel for Dubailand
GERMAN investor Steuruerlehgrang has committed over Dh700 million ($190.6 million) in Majan, the downtown of Dubailand, to develop the world's seventh largest hotel, Conference and Convention Hotel Dubailand.
This was announced by Mizin, the real estate development company of Tatweer. The 1,050-room facility, developed over a built up area of 450,000 sq ft, will be the tallest four-star hotel in the region and will include one of the largest ballrooms in the Middle East. The hotel will have 34 stories with three basements.
ADNEC, Reed ink long-term deal
THE Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) and Reed Exhibitions have signed a long term agreement which will result in many high profile events being staged at the new state-of-the-art exhibition centre currently under construction in the UAE capital city. Reed Exhibitions becomes the owner of established events such as the Environment Exhibition, the Security Show and IDEX – one of the world’s largest defence exhibitions which will take place February 18-22 and become the inaugural event of ADNEC’s new exhibition centre. The agreement will also see Reed bring many new events to Abu Dhabi; GIBTM will take place in March and many more events will be announced in the near future.
Delhphi deal for InterCon Dubai
THE InterContinental Dubai Festival City and the Crowne Plaza Dubai Festival City (DFC) are to implement the Delphi Multi-Property Edition sales and banqueting solution from Newmarket International for selling and delivering events and conferences.
A shared resource for all of the InterContinental Hotels Group properties at DFC, the state-of-the-art Events Centre is situated directly below the Crowne Plaza DFC. It is the only waterfront events and conference centre in Dubai, with dramatic views of historic Dubai Creek. It encompasses 4,500 square meters (13,500 square feet) of conference and events space across two levels, divisible into ten break-out rooms offering services for small board meetings or large banquets of up to 1,800 guests. There is a 24-hour business centre and hi-speed Wi-Fi internet access in all public areas.
