GREYWALLS, one of Scotland’s best loved country house hotels, has extended its 2006 season for an extra two months.

The hotel, which is usually open until mid-October, will now be open until December 22, re-opening for next season at the earlier date of March 2007.
Erstwhile holiday haunt of Edward VII, the Lutyens’ designed Greywalls is the epitome of elegance and traditional good taste. It offers all the comforts of a well-loved family home combined with an exceptional restaurant, and is surrounded by East Lothian’s wealth of world-championship golf courses, sandy beaches and historic houses. Just 25 minutes from Edinburgh’s city centre, it is also the ideal base from which to enjoy the famous landmarks, galleries, restaurants and artisan shops of Scotland’s capital.
The 23 individually decorated bedrooms offer pastoral luxury with beautiful fabrics and original antiques and have hosted Brigitte Bardot, Barbara Streisand, Nick Faldo and Hugh Grant have all laid their heads on the freshly pressed linen pillowcases. There are four unique bedrooms in the original footmen’s quarters in the gatehouses, and one bedroom forming part of the walled gardens as in the Edwardian architect Sir Edwin Lutyens’ original plans. The garden rooms have French windows and private verandahs looking out to the Firth of Forth.
Gastronomy is an integral part of the Greywalls experience. The restaurant enjoys sensational views over the tenth tee of the world championship Muirfield links, down to the sea, and serves memorable French-Scottish cuisine under the experienced hand of Michelin trained Head Chef, David Williams.
For groups travelling together, The Colonel’s House at Greywalls, provides accommodation for up to eight people in four rooms. Offering bed and breakfast in the house, it is ideal for guests who enjoy the informality of a private home combined with the comfort and service of a luxury hotel.
