New Mövenpick resort for Kuwait

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts will soon open an exclusive 308-room Mövenpick Resort & Residence Al Bidaa, Kuwait.

A management agreement to this effect has been signed with the owning company Alargan International Real Estate Co. The move is part of the Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts' strategic growth plans in the Middle East and signals their strong commitment to developing tourism in Kuwait, said a spokesman.
“Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts enjoys an excellent reputation in the Gulf region,” says chairman and managing director of Alargan International Real Estate Co Khaled Al Mashaan. “We look forward to working together with the Swiss hotel group and are confident that Mövenpick's successful philosophy can be readily implemented at the Mövenpick Resort & Residence Al Bidaa Kuwait.”
Scheduled to open at the end of the year the five-star hotel is located just 15 minutes from Kuwait International Airport in the city's prestigious Salmiah area. It covers a total area of some 40,000 sq mts with 308 rooms and suites including a presidential suite and 14 family villas.
The hotel’s particular strength will be the residence part of the complex which houses an extensive choice of studios, two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments designed to attract the long stay guests and serve as weekend retreat for the domestic market.
“The new hotel will allow us to offer our guests in Kuwait, both business travelers and holidaymakers, a comprehensive range of products and services,” said senior vice-president Middle East Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts Andreas Mattmüller.
“Kuwait represents a key destination in terms of the expansion of our brand in the Gulf region and we are proud that our presence in the country will soon be expanded to two establishments.”
With a wide range of leisure activities including six outdoor and one indoor swimming pool, three squash courts and a Kids' Club the Mövenpick Resort & Residence Al Bidaa Kuwait is ideally suited to families.
The resort will also boast its own extensive private beach and a luxurious spa, health and fitness centre, spanning over 900 sq mts, is also planned. Conference and banqueting facilities include three flexible meeting rooms for up to 100 persons, a sub-divisible ballroom that will accommodate up to 400 persons as well as a business centre to cater the needs of the corporate traveller.
