Radisson, Hemaya in new waste sorting programme
CAIRO: THE Radisson SAS Resort Taba, Egypt, has implemented a waste sorting programme as part of its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR).
The hotel has employed the services of Hemaya, a waste management company recommended by the Egyptian Ministry of the Environment, to train staff in waste management procedures. A new member of staff, Ibrahim Mohammed, has also been appointed by Radisson SAS and trained by Hemaya to be exclusively in charge of sorting all of the hotel’s waste.
Grand deals at Indochine
As part of its Grand Deals on food & beverage from September onwards, the Grand Hyatt Dubai has announced two offers at Indochine, the hotel’s elegant Vietnamese restaurant.
For those who haven’t yet tried a Steamboat dinner, Indochine offers a very special price of Dh150 (normally Dh250) for two people every Tuesday, including a bottle of red or white house wine and the signature seafood steamboat, with diners cooking a selection of fresh seafood in boiling broth at the table.
Available every night of the week, Indochine also features its ‘Treat for Two’ offer. For every order of the Indochine Set Menu for 2 persons at Dh140 per person, a complimentary bottle of red or white wine is offered. The set menu offers over 10 courses – sampling the very best speciality dishes from Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. Children aged between six to 12 years dine for half price and below six can dine for free.
InterCon and HSBC link up
DUBAI: Cardholders with HSBC bank will now be able to get a night’s stay free at a wide selection of InterContinental Hotels Group properties around the Middle East and Africa. Booking a two-night weekend break at one of 55 selected hotels and resorts around the region between October 1 this year and January 4, 2005, with a HSBC credit card will allow the card holder to stay for a third night free. Travellers can choose a selection of InterContinental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn hotels and resorts taking part in the promotion including the InterContinental Pyramids Park Resort Cairo, the newly-refurbished Crowne Plaza Resort Salalah in Oman and the Holiday Inn Downtown in the UAE.
Fairmont in Savoy deal
FAIRMONT Hotels & Resorts Inc has entered into an agreement to manage the Savoy Hotel, one of London’s most renowned and prestigious hotel properties. Concurrently, Kingdom Holding Company, a company affiliated with Saudi Arabia’s Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Bank of Scotland Corporate, part of HBOS plc, have entered into discussions with the hotel owner, Quinlan Private, to purchase the hotel. Subject to the successful sale of the property, Fairmont will assume the management responsibilities of The Savoy in January, next year.
